Abstract
In oriental medicine, ¡®gihyeol(Ѩúì)¡¯ and ¡®hyeolgi(úìѨ)¡¯ are basic terms that can be found everywhere. However, despite its importance, there is no clear definition of the term. In this paper, we tried to distinguish between ¡®gihyeol(Ѩúì)¡¯ and ¡®hyeolgi(úìѨ)¡¯ and looked at actual clinical examples that were judged to be consistent with this idea. The term of oriental medicine reflects the view of the human body of oriental medicine, and its origin can be seen as Han's theory of sensitivity. In addition, in oriental medicine, the human body was understood as a dualistic structure. Based on the theory of oriental medicine, energy can be understood as meridian and blood. Therefore, ¡®gihyeol(Ѩúì)¡¯ and ¡®hyeolgi(úìѨ)¡¯ are not similar or the same terms, but can be seen as terms to distinguish different internal flows of the human body. This organic view of the human body leads to the ¡®Hyeonggiron(û¡Ñ¨Öå)¡¯ of ¡ºDonguibogam¡», and this ¡®Hyeonggiron(û¡Ñ¨Öå)¡¯ leads to the ¡®Hyeonggiron(û¡Ñ¨Öå)¡¯ of Hyungsang Medicine.
